A very tasty dish that can serve as a side dish to meat or fish, as well as as an independent dish, is potatoes in the peasant style in the oven. It goes perfectly with chicken wings in honey-soy sauce, the recipe for which is on the website. Although such a dish is usually deep-fried in fast food establishments, it more closely matches its name when cooked in the oven. After all, country cuisine is associated with food cooked in the oven. Most of us do not have an oven, but an oven is a great substitute for it. Potatoes cooked in it are extremely tasty, aromatic and, most importantly, healthy.
- potatoes – 8-10 small tubers, approximately equal in size;
- vegetable (sunflower, olive) oil - 1-2 tbsp. l.;
- ground turmeric, a mixture of peppers - 0.5 tsp each;
- a mixture of Provencal or Mediterranean herbs - 1-2 tsp.
This is a universal recipe, because both old and young potatoes can be baked without the skin.
1. Wash and clean the tubers.
2. Cut the peeled potatoes in half lengthwise.
3. Then cut each half into 3 more parts, also lengthwise - you will get neat bars.
4. Put the cut potatoes in an ordinary transparent bag made of food-grade polyethylene.
5. Add salt and spices - turmeric, Provencal herbs, pepper (or others - at your discretion). You can also use ready-made seasoning for potatoes. Basil, rosemary, thyme, paprika, garlic, marjoram, oregano, dry adjika (for those who like it hotter), mustard, Caucasian herbs go well with potatoes.
6. Tie the bag and shake it well so that the oil with salt and spices is evenly distributed over the potato slices.
7. Line a baking sheet with parchment and lay out the potatoes in one layer. 8. Heat the oven to 180-200 degrees, put potatoes there.
9. Approximate cooking time – 30-40 minutes on Convection mode.
